MOUNT VERNON INTERNAL MEDICINE has been providing quality care to patients 14 years and older in the northern Virginia area since 1976. We provide comprehensive and general medical care for acute and chronic illnesses, for example: heart disease, asthma, migraines, gastrointestinal problems, arthritis, sinus infections, common colds and many more. Other services include: physical examinations, pre-operative examinations, immunizations, well-woman examinations, bone density testing, cardiac evaluations and laboratory services.

Mt. Vernon Internal Medicine prides itself on our flexibility and customer service. If you have any questions please call us at 703.780.2800.

Our offices are open 7:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Our Springfield office is open on Saturdays as well from 8am to 12pm.

• Mt. Vernon Internal Medicine does not accept uninsured new patients.
  
• Co-payments are expected at the time of your visit.
  
• For all test results we ask that you make a follow-up appointment.
  
• We will attempt to return phone calls by the end of the business day. In some cases call backs may take longer.
  

APPOINTMENTS

If you are coming to our office for laboratory tests or immunizations authorized by one of our Physicians or Nurse Practitioner you do not need an appointment. Come in at your convenience, between 7:00am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday

FIRST TIME OFFICE VISITS

When you are coming to our office for the first time, or for your first visit after being seen by one of our Physicians in the Hospital, please bring the following:

1. Insurance card.
   
2. Photo ID such as a driver’s license.
   
3. All your medications and dosages, or the medication bottles.
   
4. Results of pertinent medical history and laboratory tests.

EMERGENCY CARE

In the event of a true emergency, go directly to the closest emergency room or call 911.
For urgent but non-life threatening problems please call our office.

PRESCRIPTIONS

Prescriptions may be written at the time of your appointment. To assure accuracy and safety, authorization of refills of prescriptions should be done during your appointments. We are unable to refill prescriptions when the office is closed.
